Frequently Asked Questions

What are the ingredients in showstopper cookies

Camas Country Mill flour, Cairnsprings Mill flour, Guittard chocolate, organic white and brown sugars, Maldon salt, unsalted butter, local/free range eggs, my homemade vanilla extract, baking soda, baking powder, and kosher salt.

Why do showstopper cookies vary in size?

Each showstopper cookie weighs 3 oz. I make them big so that you will enjoy a variety of textures in each cookie. Some of the reasons I learned the cookies come out of the oven different sizes are: oven hot spots, the temperature/humidity outside, dough to chocolate ratio, and probably other factors that I may soon discover.

Do you have a gluten free or vegan option?

At this time, I do not bake gluten free or vegan showstopper cookies. However, if you are in Portland, please feel free to reach out for custom vegan or gluten free cakes, cookies, crisps, and more.

Why isn’t shipping free (or cheaper)?

Since showstopper cookies are perishable, I want to get them to you as quickly as possible. The best way to do that is using USPS flat rate priority mail. If business really booms, I will be able to look into bulk discounts for shipping.

Why can’t I eat my showstopper cookies on the same day I order them?

Part of the magic in the showstopper process is in the dough being refrigerated for at least 48 hours. Often I will have extra dough from the recent batch, resulting in baking and/or shipping your cookies within 24 hours. Since I am a one woman show, please be patient. I promise these cookies are worth the wait!

Where do you bake your cookies?

I bake all showstopper cookies in a commercial kitchen in SE Portland, Oregon.

Why do you only sell one kind of cookie?

I love baking all sorts of things, but this 1 perfect, show stopping cookie is the cookie I want everyone to eat.

How long will my cookies be good for?

Showstopper cookies are best eaten right away with joyful abandon. They will, however, stay fresh at room temperature for up to 14 days in an air tight container. For long term storage, freeze your showstoppers in an air tight container. When you’re ready for a cookie, leave it out for a bit to thaw, or microwave it for 10-15 seconds.
